As a coach, one of your many and important challenges is to develop players who are not only skilled in the game of netball – but also are masters of the positions they specialise in.

As players move on from learning general skills such as catching, throwing, footwork, attacking and defending, it is crucial a coach has the skills and resources to give each player extensive teaching and development in their preferred position on the court area. It is equally important is to ensure all players gain an understanding of their non-preferred positions – giving them a better awareness of their opposing players’ strategies and the game on a whole.
